What can you Find when you Visit Mundare?

There are many small towns that have a lot to offer, but they often get over looked. One you will want to check out is Mundare, which is east of Edmonton. This city contains a rich Ukrainian culture. Although it is small in size, there is a lot to see and do in this quaint town.

You will be enriched with history, community and culture when deciding to explore Mundare. Here are some of the things you may wish to do on your visit to Mundare.

Breakfast

Everyone needs a hearty breakfast. It is the most important meal of the day, so you will want to stop by the Mundare Bakery. Here you can indulge in some gluten-free and vegan bake goods. This bakery was established in 1926, but the current owners took over the bakery in 2013. All products are baked each day and made from scratch.

Sightseeing

You won't want to miss out on seeing some of the unique sites in Mundare, which includes the world’s largest sausage replica. This amazing site stands 12.8 metres high, and weighs 6 tons. It was produced by Stanwichy’s Meat Processing.

Other Things

There are tons of fun activities for all ages to engage in, both indoors and outdoors.

  • Mundare Splash Park – spend a hot day getting cooled down. This park is open every day during the summer until September.
  • Whitetail Crossing Golf Course – Enjoy a peaceful game of golf. This course has been named one of the best in the region.
  • Ukraina Park Recreation Area and Campground – Enjoy some outdoor adventures, while taking in the beauty of Mundare. This area is open from May to September. You will find a variety of ways to have fun and relax.
  • Basilian Fathers Museum – This museum will step you through the history of Ukrainian Settlement and the Basilian Fathers’ Mission, which took place in Canada.
