Central McDougall Real Estate Market
Around 90% of the neighbourhood homes for sale consist of Central McDougall condos and apartments. Most are high-rise buildings that are higher than five storeys, with a mix of semi-detached homes, low-rise apartments, single-family dwellings, and townhouses comprising the remaining 10%. Most of the single-detached houses found in Central McDougall were built in the 20s, 30s, and 40s while the condos, apartments and townhouses went up in the 70s and 80s.
This neighbourhood and nearby Queen Mary Park are both parts of Edmonton's redevelopment plan of the downtown's northern section. Many new condominium tower units have been added to the area including the "Aurora", which is a residential complex of 1,220 condominiums located at the community's southern end.
