Clover Bar Community History

While some houses were already present in the community in earlier years of its history, the development in Clover Bar has some obscure beginnings. The land originally served as a home to a large country cemetery, which was constructed in 1901. This cemetery was aptly named Clover Bar Cemetery. In the year 1995, years after this district had been annexed to the city, the government of Edmonton took full management and jurisdiction over the operation of the cemetery. Another iconic structure in this area is the Clover Bar Church. Originally, the land where Clover Bar now stands was owned by WH Wilkinson and the land was a donation to the City of Edmonton.

Clover Bar Neighbourhood Homes and Duplexes

There are only two types of homes for sale in the Clover Bar neighbourhood, single-family detached homes and duplexes. Most homes for sale in Clover Bar are in the Sherwood Park neighbourhood.

Clover Bar Community Amenities

Many commercial establishments and amenities can be found in the Clover Bar community. In fact, the area is composed of an interesting variety of health centres, appliance stores, a couple of restaurants, and even some industrial facilities.

Within the confines of the neighbourhood is the Clover Bar Landfill. This landfill is where waste from all around the province of Alberta is brought and subjected to a number of waste treatment and recovery processes. Because of this, the Clover Bar Landfill is able to generate a considerable amount of electricity that is used to power a number of public amenities. Despite the delicate processes that take place within the facility, the area is well-controlled and managed. Homeowners are well-protected from any adverse effects of the landfill's presence.

This area of Edmonton is well-serviced by the LRT system. As well, public buses frequent the main roads that connect the neighbourhood to the downtown district. Since the neighbourhood has unique establishments surrounding it, such as a waste treatment facility and a cemetery, some home buyers don't always look at Clover Bar as a purchasing option. The sheer number of amenities that are conveniently nearby is what attracts many others.
