Bordered on the north by Pleasantview, on the east by Papaschase Industrial, on the south by Rideau Park and on the west by Malmo Plains, Empire Park is a mixed residential and commercial neighbourhood in southwest Edmonton. It is home to the power shopping centre and entertainment hot spot in the city's south side, Southgate Centre, which covers just a bit less than 1 million square feet. The neighbourhood lies south of 51 Avenue, west of Calgary Trail, north of Whitemud Drive and east of 111 Street. The history of the Empire Park neighbourhood begins in the 1960s and was completed for the most part by the 1970s. This neighbourhood, however, still existed as early as the 1910s. It's believed the name of this community is a reference to the British Empire.
The residential listings for this community include Empire Park townhomes, single-detached and semi-detached houses and condos in low-rise and high-rise buildings.
The Empire Park neighbourhood features a number of green spaces for peaceful and quiet relaxing time and there are several other retail stores and amenities available throughout the community.
