Twin Brooks is situated between two famous creeks in southwest Edmonton - Blackmud and Whitemud Creeks. These 2 creeks serve as the northeast and western edges of the neighbourhood, making the land triangular in shape. Towards the south of Twin Brooks is Anthony Henday Drive where several commercial establishments are located. The 2 creeks isolate Twin Brooks from the nearby communities of Magrath Heights, Skyrattler, Bearspaw, Keheewin and Mactaggart.

Twin Brooks Neighbourhood History

The neighbourhood's history began when Twin Brooks joined Edmonton in 1980. Shortly after purchasing the land, city council rolled out a plan to turn it into a residential neighbourhood. More developments in the area took place between the 1990s and the 2000s. It wasn't city council, however, that named this community. The developers decided on the name Twin Brooks because the neighbourhood is surrounded by the two creeks.

Twin Brooks Community Homes

A large majority of the Twin Brooks community homes for sale are single-family detached homes. They vary in size and while some of them are bungalows, others are 2-storey houses or multi-level splits. Most of these houses date back to the 1990s, which makes them much newer than many of the homes found in other neighbourhoods of Edmonton.

Condominiums can be found in the developments of Meadows Twin Brooks and Ravenwood Court. A collection of duplexes are also available in West Creek, Parkview Estates, and Classic Twin Brooks and there is a low-rise apartment building in the neighbourhood called Pointe Twin Brooks. Homes in Twin Brooks are relatively newer and somewhat modern in their structure and design. Bordered by water, homes in Twin Brooks are some of the most in-demand residential units in the entire city.

Twin Brooks Neighbourhood Amenities

The Twin Brooks neighbourhood has popular amenities to attract new residents. Cul-de-sacs and road loops allow for an efficient flow of traffic within Twin Brooks and residents are able to travel around the community by car quite easily. Most residents, however, don't have to take a car in the neighbourhood because walking and biking are so convenient.

Inside the community you'll find the George P. Nicholson Elementary School and there is also a main park site where residents are able to enjoy outdoor activities. A community centre was newly added to Twin Brooks in 2014 while Blackmud Creek and Whitemud Creek provide residents with even more recreational options. The bus service in Twin Brooks makes it easy to reach neighbouring shopping venues like Century Park Shopping Plaza.
