Attraction Spotlight: TELUS World of Science

The TELUS World of Science has been inspiring lifelong learning for over 30 years. They do this by creating a culture that positively portrays science and technology. Their goal is to motivate people to learn about, and ultimately contribute, to the further advancement of science and technology.

This is done through the use of programs and services that adequately reflect the very diverse and ever changing Edmonton community.  The biggest emphasis is placed on making a positive difference in the lives of teachers, students, families and most importantly, children. The goal is to not only strengthen the community now, but in the future as well.

Exhibits & Events

At the TELUS World of Science you will find a host of exhibits and events that will get you excited about learning. Two of the feature exhibits include Dinosaurs Unearthed which opens May 15th, 2015, and Beyond Rubik's Cube which opens November 7, 2015. Some of the permanent exhibits include RoboThespian, Robotics Lab, Space Place, and Discoveryland Gallery.

IMAX Theatre

The TELUS World of Science also has a state of the art IMAX Theatre that has undergone a complete renovation. It features 199 premium luxury seats, a movie screen that is 4 storeys tall and 6 storeys wide, a 17,000 watt digital surround sound system, Digital IMAX Xenon Projectors, and special aurora lighting.

Some of the movies you can view in the IMAX theatre include:

  • To The Arctic 3D
  • Space Station 3D
  • Skyfall
  • Deep Sea 3D
  • And much more!

Hours of Operation

The science centre is open Sunday to Thursday between the hours of 9am and 5pm. Friday and Saturday it is open from 9am to 10pm. The cafe and gift shop open every day at 10am. Administrative hours are Monday to Friday from 8am to 4:30pm.
