Restaurant Spotlight: Uncle Ed's Restaurant

Uncle Ed’s Restaurant is a part of the Stawnichy’s family owned business. They are a Ukrainian food provider that has been in business for decades. They are well known for their sausage, but offer over 80 different kinds of meats and other Ukrainian foods.

The Menu

All products contain high quality, and are listed at affordable prices. Keeping it local is one thing that the Stawnichy’s believe in. Uncle Ed’s offers a variety of combo platters. These include the following.

• Mundare Sausage Plate – Sausage, 4 Perogies, 4 Cabbage Rolls (Sweet Or Sour), 2 Baked Cheese Buns And 2 Cheese Crepes.
• Western Cheese Wiener Plate – Western Cheese Wiener, 4 Perogies, 4 Cabbage Rolls (Sweet or Sour), 2 Baked Cheese Buns and 2 Cheese Crepes.
• Meatballs and Mushroom Sauce – Meatballs, 4 Perogies, 4 Cabbage Rolls (Sweet or Sour), 2 Baked Cheese Buns and 2 Cheese Crepes.
• Smoked Pork Chop Plate – Smoked Pork Chop, 4 Perogies, 4 Cabbage Rolls (Sweet or Sour), 2 Baked Cheese Buns and 2 Cheese Crepes.

They have a number of dessert options, which includes apple, apple raisin, cherry, blueberry, raisin, mango peach, triple berry and blackberry pie. You can choose to have ice cream added to the side for an additional $1.00.

If you want to add on to your meal, they offer a number of side items including Mundare sausage, toast and jam, French fries and sweet potato fries. You are sure to find something for everyone at Uncle Ed’s, and don’t forget to stop by the Sausage House and take some home with you.

Location and Hours

The Uncle Ed’s retail stores are located in Mundare, while their Deli-Restaurant combo is located in Edmonton, Alberta. Uncle Ed’s is open each day from 11am to 7pm. The Mundare Sausage House is open from 8:30am to 7pm. They do offer fundraising opportunities, and they have a take-out menu available.
